Make Money Online Scams And Frauds

The make money online niche is a rather large lucrative niche, and therefore is overpopulated with both the experienced as well as budding marketers. When this happens it seems to breed scams and frauds, they just come out of the woodwork!

A case in point is all the “membership” sites springing up. A post by Lis Sowerbutts about just such a scam called Teaching Sells: Does It Work? prompted this post as a matter of fact.

The Internet is full of offers for everything under the sun (just about everybody is out to make a buck seems like) and many of these offers are weak rehashed info that is easy to find for free (you just have to learn to read between the lines when looking for information online.)  Some of these offers are just scams and frauds pure and simple! I have been online for over a year now and I can count the number of ebooks I’ve bought on one hand. I just HATE paying for anything I can get for free, and in case you hadn’t noticed the Internet is full of free information, so don’t spend your hard earned money on the next “get rich quick” scheme that comes around!

You’ve come online to make a little (or a lot) extra money right? Well that is not a very difficult thing to do (relatively speaking;o), as far as researching, putting together a business plan, etc. That’s not to say implementing your business plan will be a snap though. It takes work-real work-if you want to earn extra money online. Anyone can make a couple of hundred dollars a month online, but if you expect to pay the bills and spend most of your time on some tropical beach somewhere, expect to put in some (bull-not just some-a lot!) of time and effort, at least when you’re getting your “Internet real estate” ie. websites, blogs, articles, hubpages, squidoo lenses, landing pages, high quality info products (no more scams and frauds ok!) in place. I didn’t realize how much work writing was!

Let’s take a look at some of the ways I’ve decided I could earn extra money online:

  • Building authority sites: You can build sites that are ongoing and supply a ton of good useful information, you’re shooting for hundreds of pages of content here, and that my friend is a lot of work. Not a get rich quick method of making your online money for sure. ENatures Remedies is an authority site I’ve been working on.
  • Niche blogging: A niche blog can be only a few pages (10 is a good number) and can make you money for years without much work. But (and this is a large BUT) you will not hit the bulls-eye (as far as making money goes) everytime-guaranteed! So expect to be constantly making new blogs (creating content is damn hard work) as well as trying to get traffic to your existing sites (a lot more work in itself!) The old cliche “build it and they will come”…is just not true anymore. You can find lots of small niche blogs in just about every niche especially if there is money to be made.
  • PPC advertising: This can be very easy to set-up and run, and can make you a ton of money very quickly! But (again this is a big BUT) you have to spend money to make money with PPC and quite often (especially for the beginner!) it can cost more than you make! If you are looking to make the quickest money online with the least amount of effort, become a PPC expert. There is a lot of money changing hands in the PPC world.
  • Email marketing:” The money is in the list”, is an overused cliche but true nonetheless. This too can be lucrative without a lot of work, but building a list of thousands doesn’t happen overnite (believe me I know!) So expect to spend time building your list. I for one don’t like the idea of telling everyone how they REALLY, REALLY need every offer, or launch, or whatever, hell some of these guys (and gals too) send emails multiple times each and every day. They of course have to always try every marketing ploy known to man to try to get you to open their email to begin with, and than every other marketing ploy known to man to get you take them up on “the next big thing”! Sorry if I sound cynical, but I’ve signed up for hundreds of marketers email lists (to learn the ropes, I’ve since unsubscribed to most of them) and have seen the “tricks of the trade” over and over ad nauseum!
  • Create your own product: I haven’t done this yet (the wheels are turning though) but this could be a fairly easy way to make some cash online. First off, you don’t have to create an info product about “making money online” lets be clear about that! I would suggest you create an ebook about something you know a lot about, it could be anything, as long as there are people willing to pay for your expertise. You could then put said info-product on ClickBank or one of the other info-product networks. You would need a landing page (don’t get me started on these mile-long landing pages) and would have to handle complaints, and returns and such. If your product was of high quality, and sold briskly, I would imagine you could make money quickly.

In Closing

While I realize this list is not exhaustive (I didn’t really research-I just wrote), these are actually the ways I’ve thought I would like to make some extra money online. If you want to add your own suggestions-please do-I would love to hear about them in the comments!! I think one of the “tricks” to earning some money online is to choose the way/s you’re going to make your share and stick to it! Don’t have too many irons in the fire, especially if you’re just starting out. Follow through on what you start before going on to something else, become an “expert” at whatever it is you’ve decided is going get you your share of the pie!
