How To Earn More Cash Online In 2009

Are you like 95% of the Internet Marketers online-unsatisfied with the amount of money you are able to generate through your online endeavors?

I would like to plant a few seeds if I may:

Create money-making niche sites until you actually make some money with one!

Start with keyword research, if you don’t know how visit How to Start a Niche Marketing Business to get some help with it. Target keywords that are making money, it  takes as much time and effort to target keywords that aren’t going to make you much as real winners. Make sure you start with a winner. that’s not to say you go for the most competitive keywords out there, just make sure it costs say in the $3.00 rage to get your AdWords ad to number 1.

Now create your site, I would suggest a blog with Wordpress (if you have a hosting account) or Blogger if you don’t. Write several pages of good original content on your chosen niche subject.

The first thing a lot of people want to do is load their brand-new niche site up with AdSense or whatever thinking the money will start rolling in. Don’t do it! For one thing Google doesn’t like that, and you are not going to make much money anyway…it takes traffic to make money pure and simple, and remember you don’t have any yet.

Put your time and energy instead into building backlinks to your new niche blog, these links will get your new site indexed quickly and you’ll need them to move up the serps. Remember always use natural methods to build backlinks see White Hat Tactics. You’re ultimate goal should be to get to number one on the first page of Google’s search results for your main keywords. Why is that? Search engine traffic is where the most money is-they are the ones who will click on your ads the most. It won’t be other bloggers or social traffic, it will be search engine traffic that pays!

Now as you are waiting for Goog to index your site and your traffic to pick-up, devote some time to creating even more sites using other promising keyword combinations. Just keep at it with good keywords, good content (always create good original, useful, content that has real value), lots of backlinks.

Ok, your site gets indexed, the traffic is starting to build, now is the time to monetize your niche blog. you can use AdSense (my favorite) or affiliate programs or any number of other ways to make money with your site. Just put yourself in your visitors shoes and give them what they are looking for.

Ok I’m Making Money, Now What?

Well now is the time to rinse and repeat! Not all your sites will pay off-so when one does and you start earning some cash, say $5.00 to $10.00 a day it’s time to make another blog in the same niche-you can become your own competition. Keep it up until the profits level off. By then you will hopefully have another winner, then just repeat over and over.

Once your sites start producing an income you’ll see the snowball effect, and you can create that passive Internet income you’ve always wanted.

PS. The number one thing to keep in mind here, is this-Keep you business “White Hat” don’t try short-cuts to success, you’ll be disappointed. Always create good, useful, searched for, relevant content. If you’re looking for Googles search traffic (and who isn’t) keep your business on the up-and-up and you’ll be ok. Be prepared to spend so time, success won’t happen overnite. You’ll have to work at this as you would any business, get something done everyday that will move you one step closer to your goal. Be consistent, take it one step at a time, always keep your goal in mind, try not to get sidetracked (it’s so easy to do!) and keep working (it does take work) to achieve that goal.

Good Luck and let’s make 2009 the best year ever!

I can see that you are putting a lot of time and effort into your blog and detailed articles! Great job!

Thanks for the tips. I’ve visited a lot of blogs with titles like “making money out of your blog” or something like that but this is the first time I’ve seen it explained simply how you can really make money out of this whole Internet thing. :D

  • Some good advice but I have followed this process and found myself with over 80 blogs each making between $1 and $15 a day, most at the lower end. The problem I then had was administration and keeping them up to date. It was easier to get a proper job….

    @ Justin-Thanks Justin.
@John-I try to give the newbies something doable (I’m pretty new myself.)

    Hi Rex,
Yes I could see how that could become problematic, but say you had 10 blogs you added content to, and the rest were static.
A few pages of good info on your niche subject with adsense and a few affiliate products, and just work at keeping then getting
search traffic? I think traffic would be key here, and try to improve the best ones, and add more to those niches. I hope to get
some blogs in say the $100 to $200 a day category (I still have a ways to go.)
Thanks for your imput Rex, don’t be a stranger ok!

Your post makes it sound a whole lot simpler than I have found the process to be. Firstly identifying potentially profitable niches – I have tended to use the Google Adwords keyword tool to assess traffic etc. But it isn’t easy to find those illusive, profitable terms. Then committing to some adwords spending – I’ve shelled out literally hundreds of dollars for very little return. The the biggy for me – generating traffic. I’ve even managed to get one site to near the top in the big G. with some good SEO and still my traffic is lousy. Perhaps I’m just not cut out for online success

    Yeah Steve,
Honestly, I’m not getting rich online either, and I have the same struggles as you do. I think it just takes time and effort to finally find a niche that will make you a few bucks and then build more in the same niche. Also I think you need to find very current, hopefully up-to-the-minute niches to take advantage of the lack of competition. As for using AdWords, I would only use it with a very HOT product that’s selling fast so as to assure a good profit.
Traffic generation, well yes that’s a biggy for everyone, choose keywords that are going to get the traffic you want, good seo, build backlinks over time in a natural way so as not to upset Google.
Bottom line-I think you need to enjoy the process ie. blogging, building sites, setting in front of a computer for hours, ect. ect. and just have the mindset that you aren’t going to worry about making much money.
I’ve just decided your comment will be the subject of my next post, so check back, and I’ll see you then Steve.

  • I would really like to earn more money online but not sure if this method really works, it seems a lot of time and effort.

  • Yeah vanboy, it is a lot of work no doubt about it! Creating content is one of the things I have trouble with, but with small niche blogs, once you get 5 or more good pages of content, that cover to topic well, you can be done with it. There are many people online with small niche blogs that make money with them month after month without adding any more content (I have a few, myself.) There are of course a lot of other ways to make some money online (list building, your own product, etc.) the trick is to find one you like and can sustain and then get your share!

  • Hi, I just wondering why after making $10, we need to create another blog? is it for linking strategy or some other thing in your mind. Please explain..

  • Earning money online has never been an easy task but under the conditions of the crisis when the variety of job search opportunities is not that wide, a lot of people start considering Internet as an alternative job! But nowadays it is particularly difficult to find some niche where you can add something interesting and which will make you money at a time!

  • It’s really not that difficult Elizaveta, there are literally thousands of niches waiting for you out there!

  • The most simple explanation I’ve seen when it comes to making money from blogs. Thanks for the breakdown.
