Article Marketing=Better Backlinks=More Money For You!
Hey folks,
I’ve been busy writing articles for a new site I’m building (more on that in my next post;o). Why? Because I think you can get some of the very best backlinks that way! Why? Because you are in total control of everything (anchor text, content of article, length of the article, etc, etc.)
I hadn’t written any articles at all until just a few weeks ago-dumb, dumb, dumb! I’m going to make up for lost time, I really am! Hell I wrote five articles in one day a while back, I even impressed myself lol. Anyway I’m really don’t like writing much, but I’m finding writing articles to be kinda fun.
I’m writing most of them for EzineArticles.com right now, just because they are the biggest and their articles seem to show up on page one of Google the most. It’s kinda cool that as soon as an article is accepted by Ezine Articles you’re referred to as an “EzineArticles.com Expert Author”. All article submissions to Ezine Articles are looked at by a human to make sure they are within their editorial guidelines (takes about a week.)
When your article is first published, it gets put on the main page of EzineArticles.com which has a PR of 6 and gives the sites you linked to a good shot of link juice. I would imagine that a good high quality article of say 600-900 words that gets all over the internet (by people needing content), and that shows up in the serps would gain some PR of it’s own in time.
At the bottom of your article there is an author resource box in which you can leave two links (at EzineArticles anyway) to a couple of your web pages. I’ve found I get quite a lot of traffic from the articles I’ve written, and of course the more you write the more your traffic will increase.
I have found some of my articles, along with the website the article links to, on page one of Google for the keywords I was trying to rank for! Having two spots on page one gives you that much more chance of visitors to your site.
Something else I didn’t realize is that your article can be reproduced by just about anyone as long as they don’t change the content or your resource box. So every time your article is picked up by someone to use on their blog or in their ezine or whatever you get a backlink or two using your chosen anchor text-pretty cool, and the link is one-way, you don’t have to give a link back!

The trick to writing articles quickly and easily is to know your subject well enough that you don’t have to do any research, you just write. You can get away with only writing 250 word articles (a few of mine were pretty short) but I feel if you write longer articles that cover the topic better not only will Google like them better but so will people looking for free content (which is a good thing-free one way backlinks.)
There is a whole lot of software such as Brad Callen’s Article Submitter (I really like it! But click on “Directory Submitter” at the top of the page if you want the free version) as well as membership sites out there to get your article on literally hundreds of sites, but I decided (for now anyway) to do it the old fashioned way-just manually submitting them. I’ve also submitted an article to GoArticles.com, with more to come. I think for now I’ll just pick the four or five article directories that have the highest PR, and whose articles seem to show up on Google the most, and submit, submit, and submit some more. Nice write up on articles I am glad to see you are still plugging away. I have been writing article to but I tend think they need to be better than they really do so I need to spend less time and just get them written. It does seem like articles is the path to a lot of backlinks which leads to ranking.

I have used an article submitter which also spins the article to avoid duplicate contents for the article it will be sending. I have checked out the Article Submitter that you’ve mentioned, but I didn’t see that it has the spinner that is in the automatic submitter I have used.

I just tried the $1 trial offer, and now I have articles in different directories. It also did the account creation for me, also automatically, to I think almost 400 directories.

Some people say that Google don’t count links from articles Directory sites , is this true?

I think rather than just relying on getting a link from the directory you submit your articles to, you should try and write such good articles that they will get picked up by people looking for content, and then one article could bring you lots of good one way links! Link exchanges work well but you usually have to give a link in return, and it takes time, while once you write a good article-you’re done-just wait for the links to start showing up!

Yeah, don’t give up on article marketing, it’s becoming my favorite way to get backlinks! The search engines apparently like articles too as they show up on page one of the serps with regularity. And do put your best stuff into your articles, make them fairly long 500-1000 words and spend time coming up with the best attention grabbing title you can, to get those attention-deficit internet surfers to read your content and hopefully click through to your website, squeeze page, etc. And of course getting your article picked up by other webmasters should be your ultimate goal, to get one of those coveted one-way backlinks which will of course have your own chosen anchor text;-)
Jerry, I also don’t like writing much and I am not one of those who love to remember the rules, etc. When I’ve to take care of the rules for Article writing, I get confused. Apart from it, the benefit is that you get to voice your opinion on the topic you’re writing article on along with some good traffic
. There would be criticism as well but I think if you can say exactly whats in your heart, then it’s really good. I will write articles sooner too, I am new to it as well.
Yeah Alan, each article directory has it’s own rules, and expectations. I just got dropped by Searchwarp.com and I’m not sure why. I’ve written high quality articles for them (I thought) and even picked good keywords (#1 on Goog for several) that should make them some AdSense money. I’ve asked them to reconsider, and I hope they do as I was creating some traffic from the articles as well. Anyway there are tons of article directories out there, so just keep writing and submitting and you will succeed in time (it doesn’t happen overnite.)
i am not a good writer and writing is time consuming for me … it will work if you can write many good quality articles
Writing is time consuming for me too Hipfiles. The good thing is once you go to all the trouble of researching and writing the piece, then it’s there, and doing it’s job (providing a link back as well as sending people directly to your page.) It just takes practice and a willingness to stick to it! When I started on this online adventure I didn’t know anything about computers or the Internet, hell I had to ask how to send an email! So my point is: if you are serious about “making it” online you just need to write, write, and write some more, and you’ll find you’ll get better at it in time. Also outsourcing some of your writing chores can work out well.
