The Biggest Reason People Fail to Make Money on the Internet

Millions of people would love to create online income, but only thousands actually succeed. Why? In an age where there are thousands of programs teaching you to make money online, why is it that most people can’t put it together and actually collect a check from their web business month in and month out?

Yes, it’s true that most of those programs are junk, but many of them do work, and people still fail to make any money with them. I believe there is one main reason people fail to create the internet income they want.

They think too much like employees. Employees work for a week, and then a paycheck shows up in their bank account. This conditions a person to think you’re going to be immediately rewarded, no matter how little effort you actually put in. That may be true in the world of employees, but entrepreneurs understand that owning your own business is completely different.

Entrepreneurs understand that long before you ever get paid you have to put in hundreds or thousands of hours getting your venture off the ground, before it ever creates any income for you.

A good analogy for starting a business online is the amount of fuel and energy it takes to get the space shuttle into orbit. Did you know it takes 98% of the shuttle’s fuel to get into orbit? Once it clears the earth’s atmosphere it’s basically on cruise control, but getting into space in the first place is a monumental task.

It’s the same with starting a business online. When you’re new to this game you have to spend the vast majority of your energy learning how it all works and then putting your head down and working your guts out for 12 to 18 months while your work pays off. During those 12 to 18 months, 99% of your competitors will quit. If you can survive and actually get that first few hundred dollars per month coming in, you have it made in the shade.
